The AIIP 5th Annual Conference on Intergenerational Practice invites academics, practitioners, policymakers, and community leaders to submit research papers, case studies, and stories from the field under the theme“Empowering generations – strengthening communities”.
This theme reflects our commitment to fostering lifelong intergenerational connections that enrich communities, support wellbeing, and promote sustainable social and environmental practices.

Case Studies: Provide in-depth analyses of specific intergenerational programs, focusing on outcomes, best practices, and future directions.
Submission Guidelines
- Research Papers (15 mins plus 5 mins Q&A): Abstracts should be 300-500 words. Submissions should include a clear statement of aims/objectives, methods, findings, and implications for practice and/or policy.
- Stories from the Field (15 minutes): Summaries should be 200-400 words, describing the initiative, key outcomes, and insights gained.
- Posters: Introducing your research, program, initiative or case study. These will be exhibited during the conference.
- Panel discussion: propose a topic! Make suggestions for a contemporary discussion and who should be involved as panel members.
- Submission Portal: Please submit your abstracts, papers, and stories via email to events@aiip.net.au

Notification of acceptance: 15-22 October, 2025
Draft Program available: 15-22 December, 2025
Final Program: 15-22 January, 2026
