6th Annual AIIP Conference

The Australian Institute for Intergenerational Practice (AIIP) Annual Conference 2027, themed “Making Waves Together – Turning Actions into Connections,” will bring together professionals, researchers, policymakers, educators, and community leaders committed to strengthening intergenerational collaboration and social wellbeing. Scheduled for 19–20 February 2027 at Griffith University’s Gold Coast Campus, the conference will focus on the transformative impact of intergenerational practice through evidence-based programs, shared learning, and real-world community outcomes.

The event will feature presentations from practitioners and researchers exploring innovative intergenerational initiatives across aged care, education, youth work, local government, and community services. Sessions will highlight practical experiences, research insights, and implementation strategies that foster empathy, reduce isolation, and create stronger age-inclusive communities.

A key focus of the conference will be exploring how intergenerational approaches can address broader social challenges by encouraging cooperation, understanding, and meaningful relationships across generations. Discussions and presentations will showcase evidence-based practices, community engagement initiatives, and workforce solutions designed to improve wellbeing and resilience within communities.

The conference also provides a unique platform for networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing among professionals passionate about building connected communities. Attendees will have opportunities to exchange ideas, learn from leading experts, and celebrate the positive impact of intergenerational connections across Australia and beyond.
