About NextGen
AIIP NextGen is a student & early career group within the AIIP that aims to provide a platform for clinical, research and professional students as well as early career professionals within the intergenerational practice space, to:
- Create a supportive community to network, share ideas and collaborate on intergenerational projects
- Share their research and work experiences
- Promote intergenerational practice as a viable and valuable approach to addressing social issues and building stronger communities
- Provide opportunities for professional development and growth for students and early career professionals in the field of intergenerational practice
Who is invited to join
- Students members of AIIP enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (e.g. social work, education, gerontology, psychology, etc.)
- Early career professionals working in a related field who are members of AIIP (e.g. above as well as non-profit, community development, social services, etc.)
Activities
- Regular virtual meetings to discuss relevant topics, share resources, and plan events
- Involvement with AIIP symposia through organising and/or presenting at workshops, panels or poster sessions
- Collaboration with other students/ early career groups and organizations with similar interests and goals
- Regular communication with AIIP Board members to share updates and seek guidance or support as needed
