As you know the national iteration of The Centenarian Portrait Project by Teenagers came to a close with an exhibition in May last year. However when Hyphen Wodonga Library Gallery came knocking, Embraced couldn’t turn down the invitation to run a local iteration in their home state.
Over the last months, they’ve worked closely with eight teenagers and eight centenarians across this region. During this time, they’ve come together to foster connections, share stories and develop unique portrait approaches.
The Centenarian Portrait Project by Teenagers not only serves as a meaningful artistic endeavoor but also acts as a powerful catalyst for fostering intergenerational connections and reaping numerous benefits for both the young participants and the centenarians involved. Through this program, teenagers gain invaluable insights into the rich tapestry of life experiences, wisdom, and resilience embodied by centenarians. Read more here.
