24 – 30 April is Global Intergenerational Week

Global Intergenerational Week is happening on 24 – 30 April but the fun doesn’t have to start then, we are promoting a number of pre GIW events and happenings, so please check them out. If you would like to host an event for your group or area let us know! We have some great ideas for your group or grandfriends to try and we are happy to help you promote it.

During the leadup prominent landmarks around the country till be lit up in pink to raise awareness of intergenerational practice.

  • Monday 22 April prominent landmarks in Brisbane is will be lit up Pink
  • Tuesday 23 April it will be Perth’s turn.
  • Friday 26 April will see Adelaide’s Parliament House and Melbourne’s Town Hall lit up in support. So If you see a pink bridge or building take a photo and send it to us or post on Facebook and tag us and don’t forget to use the #GIW24 Our major events for GIW will be a ‘dance around the world – doing the YMCA to be held on Wednesday 24 April – it is a virtual event and anyone anywhere can join in! If you cannot make it send us a video of you and your grandfriends doing the YMCA! On Monday 29 April we will be joining our friends in Asia Pacific for a panel discussion with Singapore, Hong Kong and New Zealand. This is also a virtual event so anyone can join in to listen to an exploration of taking intergenerational practice from ‘nice to essential’ More information on all these events is on our dedicated page here.
